Abstrakt

The school in the Polish Children Camp of Balachadi-Jamnagar began to function in September 1942, when the second transport of Polish refugees arrived in India from Ashgabat. On March 27, 1944 its name was determined as the St. Andrew Bobola Public Primary School, with kindergarten, fifteen classes of primary school and one class of lower secondary school offered at the beginning. This article argues that as educational and cultural activities became extremely important for Polish children, the attitudes of their teachers and tutors helped to create a sense of community, patriotism and love for the homeland.
